After 16 glorious years at Film Afrika, Vlokkie Gordon is leaving the company at the end of March to head up a new production division for Sabido Investments.
As head of physical production at Film Afrika, she oversaw the company's growth from 3 people and a dog operating out of a garage to a fully integrated business that has successfully managed nearly R2billion in local production spend - at an economic multiplier of 5, this translates into an extraordinary R10bn in local jobs and economic activity.
In her new incarnation, Vlokkie will be working closely with Marcel Golding to produce films and TV productions for distribution locally as well as internationally via Sabido affiliate Powercorp based in the UK. During her tenure at Film Afrika she nurtured one of finest production teams in the country and leaves the company in the very capable hands of the finest management personnel in South Africa.
Says Film Afrika founder and CEO, David Wicht "I have been enormously privileged to have had Vlokkie as partner and friend for 16 years - we celebrate her success and look forward to seeing her going from strength to strength."
