We are looking for a Senior Development Producer who brings the knowledge, skills and abilities of a dynamic Senior Entertainment Producer/Line Producer.
Above all else, the fundamental requirement is to be a creative who conceptualises innovative concepts and can readily write them up.
Self-generate ideas and spot trends and themes for further exploration.
Conceptualise all-genre proposals - covering Reality, Magazine, Factual, Drama, Digital (including Made for Mobile) and youth.
To expertly draft end-user appropriate written proposals for broadcasters and agencies alike here in SA or internationally.
To expertly understand and have the skills to draft full production budgets, production schedules and cash flow schedules for approval from HOD: TV.
Working with Commercial department in brainstorming and drafting sales packs for potential clients – 1-Pagers, PowerPoint presentations, budgets and treatments, sizzle reels and brochures.
Pitching concepts effectively to clientele and closing deals autonomously or in partnership with a superior or peer.
Demonstrate exceptional personal integrity and good insight into the Okuhle Media values in relation to the programme genre.
Build on relationships in South Africa and beyond.
Contact with key industry figures and the wider creative community.
Most problems are linked to programme development i.e. changes in timescales, budgets, financial plans. These may prove complex and require a high level of creativity to solve them.
PLANNING & ORGANISATION
Manage workload and personal calendar effectively to ensure deadlines are met and objectives delivered.
Attend weekly meetings with Head of Creative to review workload and performance against targets and objectives.
3-years’ experience in dealing with broadcasters.
3-years’ experience in developing concepts and formats to realisation – with a verifiable track record.
Experience in dealing with international television industry and attending global TV markets (e.g. – NAPTE, MIPTV).
Working knowledge of multi-genre productions – with small to large budgets.
Proficiency in understanding productions, how they work and the crew involved.
A tertiary education is advantageous.
