The National Film and Video Foundation announces availability of the 4th Annual South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAS) ceremony on dual DVD. The DVD which can be purchased exclusively online feature the two sessions of the SAFTAS.

The 4th Annual SAFTAS took place on the 20th of February 2010 live from the State Theatre in the city of Tshwane. The star-studded event honoured the best in South African Film and Television, and saw the winners walk away with the coveted Golden Horn Award. Hosted by the inimitable John Vlismas, the awards featured top class entertainment by homegrown musical talent Just Jinger, MXO and Jamali with Ndumiso on the trumpet.

Moving tributes to Life Time Achievers - Katinka Heyns, Joe Mafela and Dr John Kani were a highlight of the evening.

The 4th Annual SAFTAS once again raised the bar in rewarding excellence in the entertainment industry, and was, for all those present and for the viewers at home, an evening to remember.

The 5th SAFTAS will be held in 2011, entries are still open for Feature Films and Lifetime Achievement Awards. The closing date for the two categories is 31st of December 2010.
