Chickens can fly wins distribution with Ostrow and Company

Deepend Films are proud to announce that they were scouted and picked up by the producer’s representation, Ostrow and Company in Hollywood for their documentary “Chickens Can Fly”.

Page Ostrow, after negotiations with numerous distribution companies, has won and secured distribution for the documentary worldwide. The film tells the story of South African artist Pieter van der Westhuizen’s life.

Chickens can fly is a beautifully made, simple story signifying the artists simple and magical world. It is an untarnished representation of how Pieter picked up colour and started making art. At a young age Pieter decided that his life was not for him and decided to make another world for himself, in pictures. The documentary follows the life path of Pieter van der Westhuizen and his vision for life.

“This documentary was inspired and driven by the passion of wanting to expose people to the beauty of art,” comments Paulene Abrey, Executive Producer at Deepend Films.

“The aim was to bring the artist and not just his work to the audience. Art is its own unique form of expression and it allows people to look at the world through the eyes of another human being, without being affected by their own thoughts,” indicates Paulene.

After only a few months of signing with top Beverly Hills based Producers Reps Ostrow and Company, they secured distribution and the film is now available around the world.

“Now we want the public to be aware of the film and see it,” concludes Paulene.
