
Movies from the continent are in the spotlight at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles. A number of films directed by South Africans are on the line-up, competition for top honours at the event. by Nadia Neophytou
The festival was founded by actor Danny Glover.
A total of 170 films from 30 countries including South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya are being shown at the film festival.
On Friday night, A Million Colours, the follow up E’Lollipop made its debut.
The festival will hand out prizes.
South African movies like Man on Ground directed by Akin Omotoso and starring Hakeem Kae-Kazim, are among those competing at the 20th anniversary of America’s largest festival, celebrating people of African descent.
