Michael Auret is a financier, producer and Sales Agent and runs Spier Films. Recent credits include "Black Butterflies", a Euro 5 million Dutch/German/South African co-production charting the life of iconic South African poet, Ingrid Jonker. Directed by Oscar nominee , Paula Van Der Oest the film starred Carice Van Houten, Rutger Hauer and Liam Cunningham.
He also recently produced the documentary "Robert Mugabe ... what happened?" for ZDF/Arte and previous to that produced "Master Harold and the Boys" with Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction) and Freddie Highmore (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)
Spier Films is also involved with the development, financing and sale of factual series and documentaries through Spier Films London offices. Michael is also a fund manager of Spier Films unique production fund available to finance productions undertaken by the company.
