UK company launches with two South African productions

The UK company WeDoFilms, under directorship of Malcolm Fudge, has launched with two productions set in South Africa with themes bang on trend. One, 'Flawless Folly' showcases typical Zulu culture, the other 'A Mother's Legacy' has a strong socially relevant message.

Flawless Folly, a comedy/drama/musical feature film, follows two Zulu brothers who find diamonds in a disused mine and try to get listed on Wall Street. Kalahari Productions with director Darrell Roodt, two entities familiar with Oscars, are on board for production.

A Mother's Legacy, a docudrama feature film, reveals the usage by drug dealers and criminals of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder children as a human resource pool due to their social behaviour vulnerabilities. The script, written by Cilla Lowen, won 'Best Script Award' at the Socially Relevant Film Festival in New York in 2016 and is backed by the testimonial of Erin Brockovich: "I am proud to support the mission of the Socially Relevant Film Festival New York. Movies have a unique ability to bring social issues to life and films like these can truly change lives, I should know." The director attached is Sara Blecher who, together with Darrell Roodt, is on Africa's top 50 list of directors.

WeDoFilms has representation in Beverley Hills, Palm Beach and Cape Town.

Cilla Lowen is the Cape Town representative.
